The Inuit had contact with groups in the southern regions, but it wasn’t always a great friendship.
- Boundary disputes were common and warfare between the groups was not far from rare
- Warfare was even more common amongst Inuit groups that had a greater population, because more land was needed
- The weapons they used were very simple hunting tools like make-shift bows and wooden clubs
- When they weren’t fighting with their neighbors, Inuit’s main trade industry revolved around animal hides, driftwood, bones and walrus ivory
- There is also little known history of contact with Vikings, but not much is known about whether they were friends or enemies
