- They use Qajaqs, the grand-daddy of Kayaks, made form a frame covered in seal skin to travel the Arctic waters.
- Qajaqs are also used for hunting aquatic animals because they are very agile and extremely buoyant.
- When transporting goods or people, the Inuit used the Umiak, a larger, flat-bottomed boat usually six to twelve meters long, this type of boat can get much closer to shore and also sometimes used for hunting.

- Dogs are very strong in numbers and adapted well to the weather.
- Sleds are used to cross both tundra and sea ice.
- Dogs are also very good at sniffing out the breathing holes of seal for hunting.
- They can also defend against large predators such as polar bears.
